Wisła: spectacular and historical swimming pool delights and attracts tourists

There has never been a shortage of attractions in the Beskids. In previous years, however, we haven’t had many modern pools here that the whole family can enjoy. Now such a facility operates in the very heart of the region, i.e., in Wisła, where a revitalized bathing park is operating at full capacity. It is modern, but also care has been taken to preserve the historical character. After all, the history of this place is extremely grand and attracted tourists nearly 100 years ago.

The bathing park in Wisła was built in the early 1930s. At that time the pool was one of the most modern facilities on the tourist map of our country.  And it was already then, that Wisła attracted tourists not only because of the natural resources, clean air and stunning views but also because of the modern tourist infrastructure, which could be envied by much larger towns.

In Wisła, however, it was remembered that proud history should not only be mentioned but also constantly drawn from. This was the assumption of the municipal authorities, who purchased the facility from the Polish Sports Association for the Disabled “Start” for PLN 1.7 million. Then the company “Baseny Wisła” was founded, which in the bathing park with its modernist, glass pavilion decided to “create a lively, open meeting place, filled with movement, energy and great fun”, of course, maintaining the unique character of this place.

There is also an administration building and a recreational area with tennis courts and a beach volleyball court. And what attracts the most attention? Of course, what we find around water.  In addition to the pool, you will find here, among others, artificial waves or slides for children and adults. On one of them, you can reach the fastest speed allowed by the standards, which is 12 m/s.  The weather will also not prevent you from using the facility. Water temperature at the modern bathing site in Wisła is guaranteed to be 28 degrees Celsius.

The pool is open every day. Tickets cost PLN 49 per day for adults, while reduced tickets cost PLN 19. A 20 per cent discount has also been prepared for those who stay in Wisła overnight and pay the local fee. In turn, all holders of the Vistula Resident Card have a 50% discount.  The discounts also have children and young people, pensioners, disabled people and their carers.
