Yesterday, a mass dispatch of malicious SMSes to Polish phone numbers was launched. Above we have provided a picture of the message. The messages are sent from various phone numbers, mainly +49 (Germany) prefixes. They also contain various links, directing to a website with a fake message about a “new voicemail”.
If someone is fooled and clicks on the button, they download a malicious application designed for Android phones to their phone. Installing this app will infect the phone with malware designed to steal money from the victim’s bank accounts.
This attack only threatens Android users. But whether you have the latest iPhone or an Android smartphone, there are a few mandatory settings you should configure to protect your smartphone from these and more advanced attacks.
