The 17th edition of the “Science Popularizer” competition was launched, awarding individuals, teams, and institutions that popularize science among Poles. This year the competition is taking place a little earlier than usual. Applications can be submitted until September 10.
The aim of the competition – organized annually by the Science in Poland website of the Polish Press Agency Foundation (PAP Foundation) with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science – is to honor individuals, teams, and institutions that popularise science among Poles. The award is given to those who help others to better understand the world and can make non-scientists interested in scientific achievements.
This year the competition is taking place a little earlier than usual. Submissions can be sent until September 10, 2021, at 11:59 pm. They will be judged by a jury composed of science popularizers, representatives of the scientific community, the Ministry of Education and Science, and the Science in Poland website. The jury is chaired by Professor Michał Kleiber.
The jury will select the Grand Prize winner from among all the entries. This most prestigious award in the competition will be given to a person, team, or institution that promotes science in an exceptionally creative and effective way.
Awards will also be given in the following categories: Scientist, Animator, Team, Institution, and Media.
Organized since 2005, Science Popularizer is the oldest and most prestigious contest in Poland, in which scientists, institutions, and social workers are awarded, whose passion is to share knowledge and reveal the mysteries of modern science in an accessible way.
