    Great news from France. Polish illustrator Joanna Concejo was awarded the prestigious illustrator award Grand Prix de l’illustration jeunesse 2021. The artist was honoured for illustrations to the book “Sénégal” by Artur Scriabin, announced on Twitter of the Book Institute.

    “Joanna Concejo won the prestigious French illustrator’s Grand Prix de l’illustration jeunesse 2021. The Polish artist was honoured for illustrations to the book Sénégal by Artur Scriabin, published by Atelier du poisson soluble,” it was written in the information on the BI website.

    As explained, “the prize of 3,000 euros will be presented on September 23, during the inauguration of the Biennale of Illustrators, which runs until October 3”.

    Joanna Concejo was born in 1971 in Słupsk, she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań, at the Faculty of Graphics.

    As noted, Joanna Concejo’s books have already been published in over twenty countries. “For Prince in a Confectionery (text by Marek Bieńczyk) she received an IBBY (The International Board on Books for Young People) award,” it was recalled.
