In almost all of his work, even in epigrams, we can see Kochanowski’s turn towards the renaissance humanism, especially in songs. Kochanowski was often referred to as the second Horace, who came up with the phrase “carpe diem”, “seize the day”. Kochanowski wrote about everything, in a way he opened himself up to the reader. There were no taboo subjects for him, if he was unhappy he wrote about that as well. He was a prime example of the renaissance humanism, he tried new things, new literary trends. He lived his life fully, but he also knew how to tell a joke and who to tell it to, whether he was talking to a simple or an educated person.
