On 25-26 November this year, on the premises of the AMBEREXPO Exhibition and Congress Centre, the national SkillsPoland 2021 competition was held for the first time. The winners of the competition will represent Poland at the international WorldSkills Competition to be held on October 12-17, 2022 in Shanghai.
During two days of struggle, the contestants competed in as many as 9 competitions: floristry, CNC-milling, hairdressing, sanitary and heating installations, electrical installations, furniture making, agricultural and construction vehicles mechanics, hotel recepcioning, carpentry.
During the competition, there were more than 70 competitors (guest competitors also from abroad). The tasks for the competitors consisted of several modules, and the proper course of the competition was supervised by almost 50 judges from Poland and abroad.
The event was accompanied by numerous panel discussions with representatives of science, business and public institutions, thematic workshops for teachers, “try a skill” zones for visitors, partner zones, a school and university fair and many other attractions.
Nine winners in each of the disciplines represented received a gold medal and a ticket to Shanghai.
WorldSkills is the world’s largest industry skills competition, bringing together 85 countries. More than 60 competitions are held in 6 industry areas: information and communication technology, manufacturing and engineering, construction technology, transportation and logistics, social and personal services, art and fashion.
The main goals of WorldSkills for more than 70 years are to improve professional qualifications, exchange good practices and build the image of vocational education. The competition is accompanied by various shows, performances and conferences, and representatives of leading companies from all over the world come to the place to look for potential employees and managers.
