Situation on labour market in Poland better than last year

The coronavirus pandemic brought massive changes to all sectors of the economy. The labour market has verified its needs. HR-related workers and skilled labourers are sought after. The unemployment rate in Poland is falling and the number of vacancies is rising. Flexible forms of employment are becoming increasingly popular. These are only some of the conclusions from the report of the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP) entitled “Labour market, education, competencies. Current trends and research findings”.

The latest data presented by Statistics Poland (GUS) and the Ministry of Family and Social Policy shows that in September 2021, the unemployment rate fell in all 16 provinces. Its value was 5.6%. This is 0.2 percentage points lower than in August 2021.

According to Eurostat, the unemployment rate for the European Union countries (EU27) was 6.8% in August 2021. The lowest rates were recorded in the Czech Republic (2.9%), Malta and the Netherlands (3.2% both). Poland took 4th place in the EU ranking. The highest rates were recorded in Spain (14.0%), Greece (13.2%) and Italy (9.3%).

In August 2021, the 50 largest recruitment portals in Poland published as many as 21.5% more job offers than in July 2021. That’s an increase of over 323,000 ads. Most offers were for the following positions: HR Business Partner, Recruiter and Cyber Security Specialist.
