    The film about Przemyk will be seen by American viewers. “Leave No Traces” hits US theatres in February

    The Polish Oscar candidate “Żeby nie było śladów” (Leave No Traces) by Jan P. Matuszyński will be released in February 2022 in American cinemas. Its distribution will be handled by Buffalo 8 – informed the Polish Film Institute in a press release.

    As reminded on the PISF website, the world premiere of “Leave No Traces” took place in September this year during the 78th Venice Film Festival, where the film “received the critics’ award Premio Bisato d’Oro (best picture)”. “It was presented in the main competition of the 46th International Film Festival. At the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia, where it won the Silver Lions and the award for production design,” it was written.

    It was added that “the Polish-French-Czech co-production also received an award in the best feature film category at the Central European Cinema Festival 3KinoFest in Prague”.

    The film was included in a long list of titles submitted for the 94th Academy Awards in early December. Oscars for Best International Feature Film. Whether it will make the shortlist – we will find out on Tuesday, December 21. The Oscar nominations will be announced on February 8, 2022, and the awards gala will take place on March 27, 2022, at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre.
