Polish man murdered in London. A second person was detained

A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 46-year-old Polish man in west London, London’s Metropolitan Police said on Saturday. He is the second person arrested in this case – the first being a 13-year-old boy.

The event occurred on Tuesday night in Yiewsley, a far west London suburb. Police reported that the Pole died 30 minutes after officers received the report. The 46-year-old Polish, who lived in that part of London, was treated by paramedics but despite their efforts, he died at the scene at 00:43 on Tuesday.

He is this year’s first homicide victim in London. An autopsy conducted Thursday revealed that the cause of death was stab wounds to the groin and chest. Police previously reported that they believe the Pole was attacked after a verbal altercation with a group of men that occurred on one of Yiewsley’s busy streets. The 13-year-old arrested in connection with the case was released on bail on Friday but is scheduled to appear in court in early February.

In 2021, 122 people were murdered in London, most by knife.
