Poles are more and more aware of the importance of a healthy diet. Poles don’t just expect a slim figure, but more importantly a healthy body and spirit. They believe that what they eat has a direct impact on their mental well-being as well. A new report reveals the whole truth about what Poles think about healthy eating.
Experts from Cateromarket, the first Polish diet comparison catering, decided to check how Poles perceive the topic of healthy eating. Which diets do they choose most often? Has the pandemic affected what and how they eat daily? What do they think about boxed diets? The latest report is based on a survey of 1,200 respondents.
The issue of healthy eating is not something Poles are indifferent to. 6 out of 10 Poles believe that they eat healthily. They consciously exclude processed foods and sweets from their menu, and when shopping for groceries, they try to read labels. Poles take responsibility for their health, and when choosing a diet, they most often opt for a balanced diet designed to get the right amount of calories and nutrients into their bodies.
In second place are weight-loss diets, and even further down are diets that involve eliminating certain ingredients from the diet, such as meat or milk. Moreover, one in three people admits that they do not currently follow any diet, while half of the respondents have no intention of changing their eating habits shortly.
More than half of Poles believe that a healthy diet is expensive. They also have a problem with following it. On the other hand, to save their time and provide themselves with healthy, well-balanced meals, it is more and more common for Poles to use the services of catering companies. Poles see boxed diets first and foremost as a considerable convenience and time saver.
“The diet catering market continues to grow, and its availability is also increasing. Today, this is no longer a luxury that only residents of large cities can afford. The number of companies that operate in smaller towns is increasing. Poles have learned that it is worth trusting the specialists and putting into their hands the most important issue – health. When choosing a diet for ourselves, we look for well-balanced meals that are not designed to help us gain weight but to provide the body with the right amount of nutrients,” Łukasz Sot, diet catering expert and co-founder of Cateromarket. pl, comments.
When thinking about diet, Poles are primarily guided by their health issue. This trend became even more popular during the pandemic, which more or less changed everyone’s life. However, more than half of Poles say it has had little impact on our eating habits. Despite growing awareness of the importance of what we eat for our health and immunity, only 1/3 of respondents admit to making positive changes to their diet and 15% admit to changing their eating habits for the worse.
