Polish handball players will say goodbye to the European Championships, which are held in Hungary and Slovakia. They will play against Spain today. The defending champions are fighting to advance to the semifinals, while the red and white team is fighting for an honourable farewell.
The team did quite well in the tournament. They won two games, lost three, and tied with Russia 29:29 on Sunday after a dramatic end.
The Spanish had five victories but lost to Norway 23:27 on Sunday. Before the last round, they are third in Group II with the same number of points as Norway and Sweden. Winning against the Poles will give the defending champions at least a second place and promotion to the semifinals because the teams from Scandinavia will face a direct clash.
The start of the match between Poland and Spain in Bratislava is at 3.30 pm.
