“After late-night consultations with Germany, we have agreed that the Russian Nord Stream 2 pipeline will not be commissioned. This $11 billion worth investment will be for nothing,” a representative of the U. S. government said in a press conference.
Yesterday, Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced that Germany has taken steps to stop the certification of Nord Stream 2.
“Nord Stream 2 cannot go into operation without this certification,” Mr Scholz said.

The representative of the US administration added that no Russian financial institution would be safe in the event of a further invasion of Ukraine, and disconnection of Russia from the global banking communication system SWIFT is not excluded.
