“This consequence, the favour of the Prime Minister’s government, has meant that we are independent at all times,” said PKN Orlen CEO Daniel Obajtek at a press conference. He reported that after the outbreak of war in Ukraine, Orlen ordered 28 oil tankers that “completely secure our system.” According to Obajtek, Poland is prepared for any scenario by making itself independent of supplies from the East.
“We are prepared for every scenario and follow a very intensive and consistent process of diversification. In early 2020, there was more than 50 per cent of the oil in the Orlen system, from a different direction than the east. This involved several activities related to deliveries from other destinations such as Saudi Arabia, the North Sea, Norwegian deposits or Angola, Nigeria,” said Daniel Obajtek.
“We’ve worked very hard. We have adapted our refineries to allow us to select a range of oil types to be optimal for use in our refineries. And that’s what we did,” he added.
“This consistency, the goodwill of the Prime Minister’s government, has meant that we are independent at all times. And not only Polish refineries, but we also have refineries in the region. After the outbreak of the war, we ordered about 28 tankers to fully secure our system,” the PKN Orlen CEO stressed.
Dzięki bezpośrednim relacjom z największymi producentami ropy na świecie skutecznie dywersyfikujemy kierunki dostaw ropy. Przed 2015 rokiem niemal cały surowiec przerabiany w Grupie ORLEN pochodził z Rosji, dziś jest to mniej niż połowa. Jesteśmy gotowi na wszystkie scenariusze pic.twitter.com/zaF1y1PBtO
