The Underground Exhibition is a temporary installation of art made by Ludwika Ogorzelec. The exhibition has been held in many places all over the world, but now it can be admired in Silesian Museum in Katowice from April 8th to October 22nd. The exhibition is called The Underground Exhibition, and its name directly refers to the specific architecture of the museum space.
Ludwika Ogorzelec comes from Lower Silesia and she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, in the studio of prof. Leon Podsiadły, where she obtained a master’s degree in art in the sculpture department. She has lived in Paris since 1985, where she continues her creative program at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
In the following years, she began to receive invitations for artistic trips – residencies, exhibitions abroad, including Poland. More than 107 of her individual exhibition have been conducted and she was honoured with the President Lech Kaczyński Award.
At the individual exhibition of Ludwika Ogorzelec at the Silesian Museum in Katowice, three site-specific installations and works from the historical series of mobile sculptures brought from the artist’s studio in Paris were presented.
The Crystallization of Space is a system of lines intersecting
one another with a certain order and modifying the
previously determined space both physically and meaningfully.
In other words, it is a shattering of space into smaller
components – crystals – whose purpose is to achieve
a new aesthetic and psychological state that acts on the
conscious and the subconscious mind of the observer.

The exhibition consists of 3 sculptures. There is an opportunity to see a sculpture made of a tree line Antigravity II (moved from Ujazdowski Castle to Silesian Musem), site-specific sculptures The Ramp and Transparent Rhapsody from the cycle Space Crystallization.
