PM Mateusz Morawiecki confirms Polish role in arms supplies to Ukraine

Poland is working with Nato in supplying defensive weaponry to Ukraine, Poland’s prime minister said on Wednesday.

Mateusz Morawiecki declined to reveal details of Poland’s role in the arms supply operation citing “obvious” confidentiality requirements. He said, however, that Poland was doing its best to help in the deliveries.

“Poland is trying to help in providing Ukraine with defensive weaponry with which to protect lives and territory. We are working together with Nato, but for obvious reasons we won’t be disclosing any details of the operation,” Morawiecki said on Wednesday in the southern town of Siemianowice Slaskie.

On Tuesday, Pentagon spokesperson John Kirby said that Ukraine has received aircraft and aircraft components from several countries. Kirby added the US had helped in delivering the components to Ukraine but was not involved in supplying the whole aircraft.
