The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) will be held in Poland for the first time on May 26–27 in Rzeszów. The event is being organized with the support of TV Republika. Despite the fact that CPAC is scheduled between the first and second rounds of the Polish presidential election, Gazeta Wyborcza has already launched its first wave of criticism, accusing the conservative event of being a vehicle to “reinvigorate Karol Nawrocki’s campaign”—especially in the wake of a recent scandal involving a second apartment.
The announcement that CPAC, the world’s largest conservative conference, would come to Poland was made during the “Gazeta Polska Person of the Year” gala in March of this year.
CPAC in Poland
This major gathering of conservatives from across Europe, the United States, and beyond will take place just days before the second round of Poland’s presidential election. Matt Schlapp, CPAC’s chairman and former White House Director of Political Affairs, spoke about the upcoming event on Telewizja Republika, which is co-organizing the conference. The venue is the ZEN.COM Expo – Exhibition and Congress Center of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship.
“This is big. The first CPAC in Poland is happening this month. It’s an exciting time for Poland, and we warmly invite everyone to take part,”
Schlapp said.
“When Donald Trump won the U.S. election, the world felt a renewed sense of hope—hope that freedom can thrive in other countries too. People of goodwill can unite and work together. I believe this is a pivotal moment globally. We are traveling across Europe, speaking with more countries each week, expanding this movement. I’m confident we’ll soon see great results,”
he added.
Ticket sales for CPAC Poland opened this morning, and the event is open to the public. Still, Gazeta Wyborcza wasted no time in framing it as a political maneuver, clearly unsettled by its potential impact. In contrast, the campaign of Nawrocki’s chief rival, Rafał Trzaskowski, has so far been marked mainly by an expensive Poznań event featuring former U.S. President Barack Obama—funded by taxpayers.
“Law and Justice politicians, in a bid to save Karol Nawrocki’s campaign, are bringing American and European Trump supporters to the G2A Arena in Rzeszów. The date: May 26–27—just days before the scheduled second round of the presidential election on June 1. President Duda and Nawrocki are both expected to speak,” Wyborcza writes.
The outlet even speculates that PiS officials are eager to secure the presence of U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, hoping he will echo his Munich speech by sharply criticizing the Tusk government and backing PiS and its presidential candidate—an endorsement that could “put wind back in Nawrocki’s sails.”
