Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 that demonstrates support for environmental protection and has occurred since April 22nd, 1970. This year, the official theme of Earth Day is “Invest in Our Planet.” The main page of the event is EarthDay.org and it connects 1 billion people from more than 193 countries.

On this day, people pay special attention to the pro-ecological attitudes toward life. The steps to save the future of our planet are taken in almost every group of Polish society. Teachers show the students how to take care of the environment and organize lots of ecological events and activities, such as cleaning the public areas and planting trees in the nearby schools. We also have to remember about segregation of garbage and saving water daily. These small steps followed by the youngest members of Polish society are very important and give us hope that we can preserve the condition of the Earth the way it is. Outdoor events and educational meetings are popular not only in Poland but also around the whole world.
