Around 100,000 Ukrainian citizens have found work in Poland

Up to 100,000 Ukrainians have found jobs in Poland since the start of the war, the labour minister said on Thursday.

Marlena Malag said that a special law gave Ukrainians easier access to Poland’s labour market, which boasts one of the lowest unemployment rates in the European Union. She added that the Polish economy needed workers.

“We’re very pleased because it shows these people want to work, want to stay with us longer,” Malag said.

She added the Ukrainians could make use of training, internships, and various forms of help from public employment services.

“In the long-term view, speaking with employers’ organisations, with social organisations, trade unions, we are working on further packages of measures that in a comprehensive way will enable Ukrainian citizens to take up work more widely,” Malag said.
