The 48th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia concluded on September 23, 2023, with a grand celebration of cinematic excellence. The festival’s jury, led by Filip Bajon, honored outstanding contributions to Polish cinema in various categories.
Golden Lions for Best Film went to “KOS,” directed by Paweł Maślona and produced by Leszek Bodzak and Aneta Hickinbotham. Meanwhile, the Silver Lions were awarded to “IMAGO,” directed by Olga Chajdas and produced by Izabela Wójcik, Violetta Kamińska, and Dariusz Jabłoński.
In the category of Innovative Perspective, the Golden Claw was presented to “TYLE CO NIC,” directed by Grzegorz Dębowski, and produced by Ewa Jastrzębska, Jerzy Kapuściński, and Jacek Bromski.
Renowned scenographer Allan Starski received the prestigious Platinum Lions award for his exceptional contributions to the world of film.
Individual awards recognized talents such as Jan Holoubek for directing “DOPPELGÄNGER. SOBOWTÓR,” Grzegorz Dębowski for his screenplay and directorial debut in “TYLE CO NIC,” and Andrzej Smolik for his music in “IMAGO.”
Audience Choice Award was bestowed upon directors DK Welchman and Hugh Welchman for their film “CHŁOPI.”

In the Micro-Budget Films Competition, Klaudiusz Chrostowski received the Best Film Award for “ULTIMA THULE,” with Piotr Biedroń earning an Honorable Mention for “W NICH CAŁA NADZIEJA.”
In the Short Films Competition, the Lucjan Bokińc Award for Best Short Film was presented to “WARSZAWA, HOLANDIA,” directed by Ming-Wei Chiang.
