The Russians now control 80 per cent of Severodonetsk, and some Ukrainian soldiers “retreat to previously prepared positions”, while the rest continue “fighting in the city.”
It is still impossible to evacuate the city’s inhabitants or to provide them with humanitarian aid. Situated on the other side of the Severodonetsk river, Lysychansk is under the full control of Ukrainian forces, but the “free towns” of the Luhansk region are under “constant fire”.
