“I am happy to inform you that Polish self-propelled artillery units AHS Krab are ready to carry out combat missions at the front. After M777 and FH70 howitzers, CAESAR self-propelled howitzers and M109A3, these units are the 5th type of 155 mm artillery that we managed to obtain,” Reznikov wrote on his Facebook profile.

“I am extremely grateful to the countries that support us. In particular, to the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Poland and our Baltic friends. And to all other states that help repel Russian evil,” he added.

As it was informed, in late May, Poland provided Ukraine with 18 Krab howitzers, which means three batteries, and trained 100 Ukrainian artillerymen to work with them. What is more, Poland will sell three more squadrons of AHS Krab to Ukraine.

On Tuesday (June 7), Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State Assets Jacek Sasins and the National Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak said during a joint press conference at Huta Stalowa Wola steel mill that Poland has signed a defence contract with Ukraine for sale of Krab howitzers.

The AHS Krab is a 155mm NATO-compatible self-propelled tracked gun-howitzer designed in Poland by Centrum Produkcji Wojskowej Huta Stalowa Wola. It is a combination of the South Korean K9 Thunder chassis with a British AS-90M Braveheart turret with a 52-calibre gun and WB Electronics’ “Topaz” artillery fire control system.
