In the last meeting of the group stage of the WTA Finals Iga Swiatek defeated American Coco Gauff 2:0 (6:3, 6:0). The world’s best tennis player finished the struggle with a set of victories. She will face Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinals.

In the first set, Gauff confidently won her first three service games, and at 1:0 forced the Pole to defend two break points. The seventh game proved to be the breakthrough, in which it was the American who defended against a breakpoint. Three times she succeeded, but in the fourth, she committed a double service error, and the Pole took the lead for the first time that evening. After that, Swiatek did not give up a single game to her rival.
In the second game, the Poles did even better. She avoided unforced errors, which she had twice as many as her rival earlier. She took advantage of the first match ball and entered Sunday’s semifinal with a complete victory and without losing a set.
