    Environmental awareness of Poles grows

One third of Poles, mainly residents of large cities, try to protect against air pollution by monitoring air quality alerts – according to a study commissioned by the Ministry of Climate.

A similar percentage take measures to reduce air pollution by activities such as choosing public transport, cycling or walking instead of using cars, installing a more environmentally friendly home heating system, or replacing household appliances with more energy-efficient models. More than half of respondents say that they avoid buying disposable products made of plastic and try to buy unwrapped fruits and vegetables. Over 40 percent reduces bottled water consumption and chooses returnable packaging, recyclable materials or limited packaging. A slightly smaller percentage say they limit the use of disposable plastic bags and go shopping with their own grocery bags.
