    Victims of the Smolensk catastrophe were honoured

    A Holy mass was celebrated in the Warsaw seminary church for the victims of the Smoleńsk plane crash. The leader of the Law and Justice (PiS – political party), Jarosław Kaczyński and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki as well as other politicians and activists prayed for the victims of the tragedy which occurred 10 years ago.

    Also present were: deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture Piotr Gliński, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State Assets Jacek Sasin, deputy Speaker of the Sejm and chairman of the PiS club Ryszard Terlecki, Minister of National Defence Mariusz Błaszczak, head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister Michał Dworczyk, former head of the Ministry of Defence Antoni Macierewicz and the chairman of the PiS Executive Committee Krzysztof Sobolewski. After the mass, flowers were laid at the monuments of late President Lech Kaczyński and victims of the Smoleńsk Tragedy 2010. In the evening, a Holy mass will be celebrated in the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. After the mass, the participants will go to Piłsudski Square in the Remembrance March. Then, wreaths will be laid at the monument of President Lech Kaczyński, the monument of the Victims of the Smoleńsk Catastrophe and in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. On April 10, 2010, in the crash of the Tu-154 plane carrying a Polish delegation to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Katyń Massacre, 96 people were killed, including President Lech Kaczyński and his wife, the highest commanders of the army and the last president of the Republic of Poland in exile Ryszard Kaczorowski.
