From 17 to 19 June, on an artificial white-water canoeing course at the KOLNA Sport and Recreation Centre, a World Cup competition in Canoe Slalom is taking place. Krakow is hosting this event for the third time in its history.
Competitors are competing in several disciplines: K1M (men’s single canoe), K1W (women’s single canoe), C1M (men’s single canoe), C1W (women’s single canoe), CSLX MEN (men’s extreme slalom), CSLX WOMEN (women’s extreme slalom).
For the first time, the audience in Krakow will have a chance to follow the spectacular struggle for World Cup points in extreme slalom. This competition will debut as an Olympic event in 2024 in Paris. In this case, canoeists compete directly against each other – they start in fours, in plastic boats, from a special ramp, on the way they have to avoid buoys and perform the so-called Eskimo roll (a 360-degree canoe turn underwater).
