    Poland to upgrade bomb shelters

Poland will invest money in renovating bomb shelters, a deputy interior minister has said.

Talking to Polish Radio on Thursday, Maciej Wasik admitted that the country’s bomb shelters were in “poor condition,” referring to the results of their inventory by the Polish fire services.

He vowed that “certainly, there will be funds to modernise these shelters.”

Wasik also said that an easy-to-use mobile tool was being built, which will show citizens the locations of the shelters.

According to interior ministry data, Poland has 62,000 bomb shelters across the country, enough for 3 per cent of the population.
