Third day of EYOF 2023: Poland has 11 medals in total!

On the third day of the competition, Poland’s young athletes added several more medals to their collection at the 16th Winter EYOF Friuli Venezia Giulia 2023. In total, Poland has already have 11 of them!

As we read on olimpijski.pl, Poland is ranked 8th in the medal classification because we have only one gold medal. However, in terms of quantity, we are second to none. Polish athletes have so far won 1 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze medals.

The 16th Winter EYOF Friuli Venezia Giulia 2023 is already the best in the history of the Polish national team in Olympic festivals, and there are still a few days of competition ahead of us.

On Tuesday, Polish ski jumpers won two medals. Klemens Joniak won silver and thus became the first Pole to win medals at two consecutive EYOF editions. Wiktor Szozda won the bronze medal.

In the 1000m short track competition, Hanna Mazur won silver and Kornelia Woźniak won bronze. The girls together with Krzysztof Mądry and Dominik Palenceusz presented themselves well in the mixed relay race and won the silver medal.

Hanna Mazur has become a record holder among Polish youth participating in festivals since the debut of our team in Aosta in 1993. So far, no one has won as many as four medals at one event. The previous two best festivals gave Poland 5 medals each.

Moreover, a big round of applause for Kornelia Woźniak for three medals (2 silver and 1 bronze) and Dominik Palenceusz (1 silver, 2 bronze).
