On Friday, the White House spokesperson announced that President Joe Biden will visit Poland on February 20-22. During the visit, he is slated to have a meeting with President Andrzej Duda, hold talks with the leaders of the Bucharest Nine, and deliver a speech commemorating the anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
At the press conference, Karine Jean-Pierre stated that Biden intends to discuss with President Duda both the U.S. and Poland’s joint efforts to help Ukraine and to strengthen Nato’s deterrence. The President will also be meeting with the leaders of the nine countries that comprise Nato’s eastern border to reaffirm the U.S.’s commitment to their defence.
Biden will address the world prior to the commemoration of the war, speaking of how the U.S. aided Ukraine in its struggle for freedom and democracy, and that America will remain a staunch ally of the country until the end.
On Friday evening, President Andrzej Duda tweeted an announcement of a second visit from President Joe Biden of the United States. Duda also mentioned that Poland will be a co-host of the summit of the eastern flank of NATO and the USA, demonstrating that the allied relations between the two nations are as strong as ever.
Mark Brzezinski, the U.S. Ambassador to Poland, declared to PAP on Friday night that President Joseph Biden is coming back to Poland. He is scheduled to stay in Warsaw for a two-day period, only eleven months after his remarkable visit to Warsaw and Rzeszow last March.
“This is a very clear signal of the importance of US-Polish relations and allied unity in the face of the Russian invasion of Ukraine,” he added.
