Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has vehemently denied the allegations made by Rzeczpospolita daily, accusing the publication of spreading falsehoods. He refutes claims that he was informed about an unidentified military object entering Polish airspace in December, months prior to its discovery and the subsequent launch of an investigation.
In late April, the Ministry of Defence disclosed that the remnants of an unidentified military object, suspected to be an unarmed Russian missile, were found in a forest approximately 15 kilometers from the central city of Bydgoszcz. The missile crash, which occurred on December 16, 2022, was only brought to light after its recovery.
Refuting the claims made by Rzeczpospolita, the Prime Minister asserted his lack of knowledge regarding the incident. During a visit to the Moldovan capital, Chisinau, on Thursday, Morawiecki emphatically stated, “Just as I mentioned previously, I want to emphasize once again that I had no knowledge of this incident regarding the airborne military object in December.” He clarified that he was informed of the incident in late April, categorizing the Rzeczpospolita article as “blatant misinformation” and indicative of “Russian propaganda.”
Morawiecki further emphasized, “None of the information presented there is accurate.” His remarks were made during his participation in the European Political Community summit in Moldova.
