“Donald Tusk and his team bear joint responsibility for the murder of Lech Kaczyński and the Polish elite. Irrefutable evidence of an attack includes not only the actions of the air traffic controllers but also the precise identification by the subcommittee of the destruction of the Tu-154M aircraft using explosive materials. Donald Tusk did everything in his power to conceal this, and prior to that, he made decisions that enabled Putin to carry out the attack. And that is the most horrifying part,” stated Antoni Macierewicz yesterday, summarizing the work of the Smolensk subcommittee in the Sejm (Polish Parliament).
Yesterday, in the Sejm, former Minister of National Defense and head of the Subcommittee for the Reinvestigation of the Causes of the Smolensk Catastrophe, Antoni Macierewicz, presented a summary of his team’s work. For over an hour, he presented evidence indicating that on April 10, 2010, there had been an assassination attempt on President Lech Kaczyński, whose victims included himself and the 95 individuals accompanying him on a state delegation to the commemoration in Katyn.
Macierewicz outlined in detail the political context and strategic objectives of the Russian Federation, which, according to him, were obstructed by Polish government policy. The speech also revisited the actions of Donald Tusk’s government, which made a number of decisions that now implicate it in wrongdoing. Among these was the failure to procure new aircraft for state officials and the decision to have Polish planes serviced in facilities located in Samara, within the Russian Federation. As Macierewicz recalled, the government did not inform the public of the risks involved, nor did it follow proper procedures.
Moreover, following the events of April 10, 2010, state actions allegedly focused on concealing and obstructing the pursuit of truth. According to Macierewicz, a legally flawed framework was deliberately chosen to hinder the investigation. He asserted that the Smolensk subcommittee has proven the truth about the events of that day and that its members are now facing intimidation.
“The conclusion that Russia was preparing an attack raises no substantive doubts. It is beyond question in terms of the evidence. Nonetheless, Donald Tusk, his associates, and those who lie to protect his political standing, continuously distort reality and defend Putin. Tusk’s system wages a brutal campaign against this truth in order to shield Putin’s crimes. These findings have been repeatedly presented in the Sejm and on the Twitter account of the Smolensk subcommittee by its members and supporters. The result has been a campaign of coercion by Tusk’s apparatus, spreading absurd falsehoods and issuing threats of imprisonment. We are constantly reminded of this as a threat – to silence us, to make us lie – because if we speak the truth, we will be attacked. Perhaps we will even be imprisoned. Let me be absolutely clear: I have been imprisoned many times, starting in 1968. If they wish to imprison me for this, I will endure it without a doubt. The truth about the Smolensk crime is of paramount importance – for the President of the Republic of Poland, for all those who were murdered there, and for the sake of Poland, our national security, and our future,”
declared Antoni Macierewicz.
