The Ministry of Health announced 337 new cases of coronavirus infection and 7 more deaths due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. New outbreaks of the disease still occur most frequently among miners and following wedding celebrations.
The Deputy Minister of Health, Waldemar Kraska MD, suggested in a radio interview the possibility of introducing a system of control of compliance with epidemic standards during weddings. “Weddings are very specific outbreaks of disease, where a lot of people become infected. What worries me personally is that the number of guests at weddings, which is now allowed by law, that is 150 guests is not respected. We have received information that at many weddings there are more than these 150 people. I think it should also be in the interest of the organizers of such events, because otherwise many times the only memory from such a wedding will be that the whole extended family and friends were infected with the coronavirus. Today, a special team is to gather at the Ministry, a team responsible for investigating a possible second wave of coronavirus and developing a strategy for it, therefore I think we will also talk about weddings.”
