Spike-LR: A Vital Addition
The Spike-LR guided missiles, with a maximum range of 4 km, constitute a cornerstone of the Polish Army’s anti-tank armament. Initial procurement occurred nearly two decades ago. These versatile missiles can be fired as portable weapons or from unmanned turrets on Rosomak transport vehicles. Additionally, they are slated to arm the infantry fighting vehicle Borsuk. The Spike-LR system effectively targets tanks, armored vehicles, and combat helicopters, bolstering Poland’s defensive capabilities.
The renowned manufacturer of Spike-LR missiles is Mesko S.A., a part of the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ). This collaboration underscores the nation’s dedication to nurturing its domestic defense industry while simultaneously equipping its armed forces with state-of-the-art weaponry.
