Coalition crisis may be coming to an end

The power struggle within the government coalition continues. It is still unclear how the negotiations between the Law and Justice party and the Solidarity Poland party will end. As Anita Czerwińska, the Law and Justice spokeswoman, wrote this afternoon on Twitter, the ball is now in the court of Ziobro’s party, Solidarity Poland.

The crisis in the United Right continues. After meeting for several hours at the party headquarters on Nowogrodzka Street, top politicians from the Law and Justice party reached no final decisions. It is still not known whether the ruling coalition will be kept in check.

Yesterday, Law and Justice politicians believed in a positive end to the coalition negotiations, but today the situation remains uncertain.

“The talks are difficult, the situation is serious, although I think we will manage to end it positively.” said Marek Suski from the Law and Justice party.

“The conditions were given to Zbigniew Ziobro, the conditions for further cooperation in the United Right.” followed Krzysztof Sobolewski, the head of the executive committee of the ruling party.

Unofficially, the conditions given by the President of Law and Justice, Jarosław Kaczyński to Zbigniew Ziobro, include support for the “Impunity Plus” act, as well as the resignation of the National Prosecutor Bohdan Święczkowski, Zbigniew Ziobro’s “right hand”.

“The devil is always in the detail, 80, 90% is not a hundred percent, so the devil just jumped out of those details and the 10% when we were really in a stage and moved on to the next stages. It was necessary to go back to the stages that seemed to be done with. Suddenly it turned out that there was a greater demand from our coalition partners. And at some point we had too much to handle and it was necessary to say pass.” added Sobolewski.

As reported late in the afternoon by the spokesman for the Law and Justice party spokeswoman, Anita Czerwińska, the next move is up to the Solidarity Poland party.
