Police Officer Shines at the Podium Four Times

In the recently concluded Independence Championships of Poland in bench press, held in Złotoryja, a notable figure emerged victorious. Among the participants from Poland and abroad, one stood out— Krzysztof Banaś, the police officer on duty from the Katowice Police Headquarters. Demonstrating exceptional strength and skill, Banaś claimed his place on the podium a remarkable four times, securing two gold and two silver medals in the 20th edition of the competition.

Krzysztof Banaś, with over 19 years of service in the Police Force, currently holds the position of duty officer at the Katowice Police Station. His passion for sports has been a constant in his life, with weightlifting being a central focus for more than two decades, the same does the Polish miner about whom we wrote last time. Banaś has a history of podium finishes, including at the National Championships for Law Enforcement in bench press. He is also a multiple-time champion among Silesian police officers.

Last weekend, he once again demonstrated his prowess by clinching victory four times at the XX Independence Championships of Poland in bench press in Złotoryja.

Competing against participants from both Poland and abroad, the Katowice police officer dominated in the weight category up to 140 kg. Banaś displayed unmatched strength by lifting a barbell weighing 237.5 kg, surpassing his gold-winning performance from the previous year by an impressive 17.5 kg. This remarkable achievement set a personal record for Krzysztof.

The lift of 237.5 kg not only secured him victory in the law enforcement category (up to 140 kg) but also earned him second place in the age group of under 40 and second place in the open category, competing against participants from all weight categories.
