More about the pasterka is written by local media. Portal podhale24.pl reports:
‘for those who did not fit in the church, a special tent with a telebim was prepared. This allowed them to fully participate in the liturgy and enjoy its atmosphere. Inside the church itself, unforgettable things were happening: more than 180 young musicians from the Little Army of Janosik band performed traditional carols, creating a moving and solemn atmosphere that touched the hearts of all those gathered.’
The Mass was celebrated by as many as four priests. ‘Pasterka in Rabka-Zdrój was not only an act of faith, but also a meeting of the community, which on that evening united in prayer, thanksgiving and a common experience of the birth of Christ,’ – we read.
‘They made Poland famous with these kids at Christmas’. – writes the president of the National Council of the Judiciary, Dagmara Pawełczyk-Woicka. ‘Listen to how beautifully Polish it is’. – adds Law and Justice MP Sebastian Łukaszewicz.
The Little Janosik Army is the largest highlander band in Poland, bringing together children, young people and adults from the southern part of the country. Inspired by highland culture, the band combines a variety of influences, which stimulates the artists to be creative and broaden their musical horizons. The project was the brainchild of Damian Palasz, a fiddler, musician and visionary, who in March 2015 decided to create an ensemble like the world had never seen before – now numbering 265 artists. The Little Janosik Army is based in Raba Wyżna, in the Podhale region, where regular rehearsals, preparations for artistic performances and tours take place.
