In a rare display of public dissent, fervent protests unfolded in Przytuły Stare and Radom, Poland, demanding the immediate release of detained lawmakers Maciej Wąsik and Mariusz Kamiński. The Saturday evening rally, spearheaded by Law and Justice (PiS) party member Joanna Lichocka, drew dozens wielding national flags and chanting slogans such as “Maciej Wąsik” and “Down with communism.”
Alleged Unlawful Detention
Lichocka, a PiS representative and member of the National Media Council, declared the protests as acts of solidarity for their colleagues. She emphasized the purported illegality of Wąsik’s imprisonment in Przytuły Stare and Kamiński’s confinement in Radom, asserting violations of rule of law and civil rights in Poland.

The manifestation, attended by approximately several dozen individuals, signaled a commitment to persistent actions. Lichocka announced daily protests at 6 p.m. in both Przytuły Stare and Radom until the release of Kamiński and Wąsik, aiming to raise awareness about perceived infringements on democracy and civic rights in Poland.
