On July 21 and 22, 2024, the third round of the Polish Drifting Championships is taking place at Muchowiec Airport in Katowice for the first time. The event is attracting a large number of spectators eager to witness the loud and spectacular performances of the drivers
Polish Drifting Championships at Muchowiec
The Polish Drifting Championships is currently the most advanced drifting league in Europe, featuring nearly 70 of the best drivers from Poland, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, and Hungary. These skilled drivers compete in pairs, maneuvering specially modified cars with power ranging from 700 to over 1000 horsepower, achieving drifts at speeds over 120 km/h.
Kuba Przygoński, a multiple Polish drifting champion and the event organizer, highlights the appeal of this motorsport to fans:
“Drifting competitions take place on a track that allows the audience to be close to the action and admire the dynamic runs from start to finish. You can feel the speed, the vibrations in the air, the smell of tires and exhaust. This sport requires exceptional precision—drivers drift side by side, but sometimes mistakes happen, bumpers fall off, there’s always something going on. In the Polish Drifting Championships in Katowice, we are competing on a new track that is technical but also allows for really close tandem driving. When cars are close, there’s even more excitement, competition, and unexpected twists,” Przygoński emphasizes.
More Than Just Drifting
Motorsport fans visiting Muchowiec on the weekend of July 20-21 will also enjoy a variety of attractions, including a Car Show featuring nearly 100 unique vehicles and Drift Taxi rides, offering a chance to experience a sideways thrill ride with professional drivers. Spectators will have the opportunity to see the modified machines up close and meet stars of this motorsport discipline.
For an unforgettable motorsport experience filled with speed, precision, and excitement, Muchowiec Airport in Katowice is the place to be this weekend.
