Today, Poznań bids farewell to Senior Fire Officer Patryk Michalski, who tragically died in a fire and explosion at a tenement building on Kraszewskiego Street. The funeral will be held with full state honors. Michalski, aged 34, leaves behind a grieving family and fiancée.
Throughout his service, Michalski participated in many rescue missions. Notably, during the 2022 Kłecko plane crash, he rescued a trapped pilot from underwater wreckage, demonstrating immense courage and dedication. His selfless actions have left a lasting impact on his colleagues and the community.
A Final Farewell
Following his tragic passing, Michalski was posthumously promoted to Senior Fire Officer. His sacrifice, alongside fellow firefighter Łukasz Włodarczyk, who was also laid to rest recently, serves as a poignant reminder of the dangers faced by those who protect us.
