A hot air balloon carrying 16 people made an emergency landing in Rogówek near Białystok, resulting in two injuries. The incident involved a sudden change in weather conditions, which likely contributed to the crash. The youngest passenger on board was 15 years old.
Sudden Change in Weather
The balloon pilot was forced to execute a hard landing due to unexpected strong winds. Upon impact, the basket hit the ground violently and was dragged across a field for a short distance. This led to injuries for two passengers, an 18-year-old and a 32-year-old.
Firefighters and emergency services quickly arrived on the scene. The most seriously injured passenger was airlifted to the hospital by the Air Ambulance Service, while the second injured person was transported by an ambulance for further medical evaluation.
Despite the severity of the landing, the other 14 passengers, including the pilot, were unharmed. Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the incident, particularly focusing on the sudden weather change.
