The Prime Minister and the Minister of Health informed me that the situation was better than expected,.The number of infections is rather decreasing and the health care system has an adequate supply of covid beds, said President Andrzej Duda after the Cabinet Council meeting.
On Friday at 11 a.m. the meeting of the Cabinet Council on the epidemic situation and the further strategy of the state’s actions in the fight against COVID-19 began. Due to the epidemic situation, the meeting was held remotely.
After the meeting, the president announced the conclusions.
As he said in the first part of the meeting, the “general situation” was discussed: “I want to deliver to the public, inform all my compatriots, first of all, both the Prime Minister and the Minister of Health informed me that the situation was better than expected.”
“(…) we are at the stage of an accelerating vaccination program against coronavirus, which – I hope – will lead us to overcome the coronavirus pandemic,” said Andrzej Duda after the meeting.
The President informed that one of the topics of the Cabinet Council meeting was the vaccination process. In this context, he recalled that vaccines were delivered to Poland on the basis of the EU mechanism and contracts signed by the European Commission.
