A 10-meter Polish flag flown by a stratospheric balloon honors Independence Day in Rzeszów, Poland.
A Message of Patriotism and Unity
In a unique tribute, a 10-meter-long Polish flag soared into the sky over Rzeszów, Poland, early this morning, honoring the nation’s Independence Day. Launched by a stratospheric balloon, the display was organized by the Podkarpackie Innovation Center, symbolizing modern patriotism through innovation. The flag remained in the sky, held at an altitude of 50 meters, until sunset.
The event was marked by the presence of Marshal of the Podkarpackie Province, Władysław Ortyl, who emphasized the importance of celebrating freedom while remaining vigilant. Referencing the situation in Ukraine, he highlighted the need to defend and cherish independence.
Collaborative Effort
The initiative was made possible by Podkarpackie Innovation Center’s partnership with Supercluster, a group involved in stratospheric mission design. Their teamwork was sparked by the first local edition of NASA’s Space Apps Challenge in 2021, which fostered interest in innovative space projects.
