Law and Justice (PiS) will convene its national congress on 28 June this year, where delegates are set to choose the party’s leadership, including its president, several PiS officials confirmed to the niezalezna.pl news portal.
Sources close to the upper ranks of the party say the gathering will take place shortly after Poland’s presidential election. Although PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński formally issued the call for the congress, insiders note that the event had long been planned and is not considered an extraordinary session.
In practical terms, delegates will elect—or re-elect—the party’s president and other key officers, completing the routine internal procedures required for the coming term.
