Busting myths about EVs in Poland: range, charging, eco-friendliness, and battery life explained with BMW Group insights. Poles are gradually embracing EVs as they realize their true potential and environmental benefits.
Many Poles still perceive electric vehicles (EVs) as impractical due to limited range. According to a survey by BMW Group Polska, 74% believe EVs cannot exceed 300 km per charge. However, modern models like the BMW i4 offer ranges of up to 600 km, covering daily and even long-distance needs. 66% of respondents feel EV charging is overly time-consuming. Yet, fast chargers can provide 156 km in just 10 minutes. With charging points now widely available in shopping centers and workplaces, EVs fit seamlessly into modern routines.
Half of the participants question EVs’ eco-friendliness, citing coal-based energy and battery production. In reality, lifecycle emissions of EVs are less than half of traditional cars. Innovations in green energy and battery production further reduce their carbon footprint. Concerns over battery wear, especially in winter, are exaggerated. BMW data shows batteries retain 80% capacity even after years of use.
