Michał Żebrowski’s support for Rafał Trzaskowski is nothing new, but the actor’s latest social media post is certainly raising eyebrows—and for good reason. A quick glance at the comments section says it all.
Years ago, Jerzy Zelnik criticized a campaign video for Rafał Trzaskowski in which Żebrowski appeared, saying:
“It’s painful to watch and painful to listen to—that’s really all there is to say. I’m shocked that Michał Żebrowski would take part in something like this. It’s truly disappointing.”
Apparently, Żebrowski’s admiration for the current mayor of Warsaw hasn’t faded. This time, he published a post on social media that—putting it mildly—might surprise those who aren’t politically involved. Comparing Trzaskowski’s work to that of Poland’s greatest literary figures—Adam Mickiewicz and Juliusz Słowacki—seems utterly absurd to anyone with even a basic grasp of literature.
“For decades, I’ve had the honor and pleasure of reading works by many great Polish authors… Mickiewicz, Słowacki, Norwid, Miłosz, Sienkiewicz, Żeromski, Wyspiański, Broniewski, Leśmian, Herbert, Grochowiak, Tuwim, Brzechwa, Baczyński, Prus… and now I’m reading Trzaskowski. To sum it up briefly… I don’t know which is better. Mr. President… mission accomplished.”
– Żebrowski wrote on Facebook, sparking a wave of mockery and sarcastic comments from users online.
