It is a real symbol not only of our allied solidarity, but also of the true strength of NATO, this is how the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, spoke about the joint exercise of Polish and American soldiers during the opening of the B-9 summit in Bucharest.
President Andrzej Duda, opening the summit of the “Bucharest Nine”, thanked for the presence of, among others, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and the President of the United States, Joe Biden.
“We are meeting in the middle of the Defender Europe exercise, a significant part of which takes place on the territory of Romania. 28,000 soldiers from 26 countries take part in the maneuvers. I am very proud to say that a few hours ago Polish paratroopers landed side by side with the American paratroopers within the exercises carried out as part of Defender Europe. It is a real symbol not only of our allied solidarity, but also of the true strength of NATO,” President Duda said at the beginning of the meeting.
The summit of the Bucharest Nine leaders, held today in Bucharest at the initiative of the presidents of Poland and Romania – Andrzej Duda and Klaus Iohannis – is to be an opportunity to work out a common position for the NATO summit to be held in June.
