Poll reveals majority of Poles support lifetime driving bans for court-prohibited drivers caught behind the wheel.
A recent IBRiS survey for Radio ZET reveals strong public support for permanently revoking driving licenses from individuals caught driving despite court bans. Among respondents, 53.3% said they “strongly agree,” while 16.4% “somewhat agree” with the measure.
Gender and Age Differences
Support was higher among women, with 59% strongly in favor compared to 48% of men. The strongest backing came from those over 70 (75%) and young adults aged 18-29 (66%). Lower support was found among individuals aged 30-49, where it averaged around 41-42%.
Political Preferences Shape Opinions
Political affiliation influenced responses. Third Way voters showed mixed opinions, with 53% supporting the ban while nearly a third opposed it. Voters of the Confederation (70%) and Law and Justice (64%) parties showed the highest levels of support.
The survey, conducted January 10-11, 2025, interviewed 1,068 participants using CATI methodology.
