Several prominent Polish NGOs—including Akcja Demokracja, the Committee for the Defense of Democracy (KOD), Ostatnie Pokolenie, Abortion Dream Team, the “Love Does Not Exclude” Association, and the Pink Box Foundation—are closely linked to Estratos, an Austrian-Hungarian firm responsible for illegal political advertising ahead of Poland’s presidential election in support of Rafał Trzaskowski.
According to Wirtualna Polska, Estratos Digital GmbH, headquartered in Vienna and formerly operating under the name Datadat until 2023, collaborates with many progressive and activist groups in Poland. The company is run by Hungarian nationals Ádám Ficsor—former Minister for Secret Services in the left-wing government of Gordon Bajnai—and Viktor Szigetvári.
Estratos specializes in digital political marketing and online fundraising, primarily for progressive political causes, social movements, NGOs, and citizen campaigns. It provides digital tools for supporter engagement, data analytics, and online electioneering. One such tool is Lunda, an online donation system developed and operated by Estratos.
Use of Lunda Among Polish NGOs
Akcja Demokracja has been using Lunda for years to collect online donations, with Estratos managing donor data on its behalf. Many other Polish organizations also rely on Lunda. A common denominator among them is their hostility toward Poland’s former ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party. Many of these groups have received funding from USAID and organizations linked to billionaire philanthropist George Soros.
Examples of NGOs Using Lunda:
Abortion Dream Team: Advocates for expanded abortion access and is fundraising for Poland’s first stationary abortion center, ABOTAK, in Warsaw. Donation page: cause.lundadonate.org/aborcyjnydreamteam/aboyes
Ostatnie Pokolenie: Known for blocking Warsaw streets and splashing monuments with paint.
Examples of donations sought via Lunda:
“Mailing tools, operational costs – 20 zł for heating two people, 75 zł for protest banners”,
“2,360 zł to support a mobilization coordinator”,
“Legal aid for activists prosecuted for defacing Warsaw’s Mermaid statue”.

International Links and Political Backing
Estratos is majority-owned by the U.S.-based Higher Ground Labs Fund III LP, an investment fund with strong ties to the U.S. Democratic Party. According to Wirtualna Polska, the fund is managed by former campaign officials of Kamala Harris and Barack Obama.
Estratos has also faced serious allegations in Viktor Orbán’s Hungary, including illegal processing of personal data and concealing the sources of campaign financing—allegations that mirror concerns now arising in Poland.
The revelations raise pressing questions about foreign influence in Poland’s democratic processes, as well as the accountability and transparency of NGOs engaged in political advocacy under the guise of civic activism.
