Polish Border Guard Receives Migrants on German Territory – Officially Confirmed

The Niezależna news portal has confirmed with the Polish Border Guard that they have been receiving migrants on German territory and transporting them to Poland. This is happening at a time when the Tusk government claims to oppose the EU migration pact and shortly after Poles protested in Słubice against such practices.

Admission of Cooperation with Germany

Niezależna inquired whether Polish Border Guard officers had ever received migrants on German territory and transported them to Poland. If so, the portal asked how many times this had occurred, who authorized it, and under what procedure.

A spokesperson for the Border Guard confirmed:

“Foreign nationals transferred to Poland by German authorities under the Dublin agreements and readmission treaties are received by officers at designated locations on both sides of the border, including joint Polish-German facilities, some of which are located on the German side of the border.”

According to the Border Guard, the operation of these joint facilities stems from a pilot project initiated on March 1, 2012, by the German Federal Police Directorate in Berlin and Pirna, in cooperation with the Nadodrzański Branch of the Polish Border Guard. The legal basis for this cooperation is the “Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Poland and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany on Cooperation between Police, Border, and Customs Services”, signed on May 15, 2014.

Transfer of Migrants

Under bilateral agreements, joint Polish-German border facilities have been established in Ludwigsdorf, Świecko, Pomellen, and Tuplice. Officers at these facilities are primarily responsible for monitoring migration flows across the Polish-German border and jointly preventing crimes and offenses. They conduct joint patrols of border areas and, as it turns out, also transfer migrants to each other on both sides of the border.

According to information provided to Niezależna, from January 2024 to January 2025, the Szczecin Border Guard Station received 260 migrants under readmission agreements and the Dublin III Regulation.

“Since the beginning of the year, the scale of transfers in our area has significantly increased, but it is too early to provide precise statistics,” the Border Guard stated.

Meanwhile, between January 1, 2024, and January 31, 2025, officers from the Nadodrzański Border Guard Unit received 507 migrants under the same agreements.
