Ryszard Cyba, the murderer of a PiS activist, is staying at the provincial hospital for the mentally and nervously ill in Lubiąż, prosecutor Anna Adamiak, spokesperson for the Prosecutor General, informed the Niezależna.pl portal.
Adamiak spoke to the portal about the steps being taken by the prosecutor’s office in connection with the suspension of proceedings against Cyba.
A prosecutor from the Department of Judicial Proceedings at the National Prosecutor’s Office traveled to Łódź, where he reviewed the files concerning the suspension of enforcement proceedings against the convicted Ryszard Cyba. He prepared a memo describing the situation and his assessment, which was presented to Prosecutor General Adam Bodnar on Thursday.
As a result, a meeting was held in Warsaw on Friday with the leadership of the Łódź prosecutor’s office.
During this meeting, the Prosecutor General instructed the director of the Department of Judicial Proceedings to prepare a full analysis of the prosecution’s involvement—both the actions taken and those that were not. The discussion revealed systemic shortcomings in the way Cyba’s case was handled. Recommendations will be drawn up regarding enforcement proceedings, including organizational and legislative measures,” Adamiak said.
This is yet another facility to which Cyba has been transferred. Previously, he was placed in a care home (DPS) without any penitentiary safeguards.
According to Adamiak, the PiS activist’s killer is in the Lubiąż hospital based on a decision by the District Court in Wołów.
