President Andrzej Duda posthumously awarded the architect, conservator of monuments Janusz Władysław Smólski with the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, the website of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland announced.
The president awarded the order to Janusz Władysław Smólski “for outstanding services in the protection of the national heritage and restoration of Krakow’s monuments”.
It was recalled that Smólski was “an architect, conservator of monuments, a member of the Presidium of the Social Committee for the Restoration of Krakow’s Monuments and the Polish National Committee”.
“On behalf of the President of the Republic of Poland, the order was presented to the closest family by the Advisor to the President of the Republic of Poland, Piotr Serafin, during the funeral ceremony held at the Salwator Cemetery in Krakow”.
